Wade’s stolen bicycle story has a happy ending

May 2019 – MPO bike/ped coordinator and liaison to our Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC), Wade Reynolds, was surprised with a BMC Trailfox mountain bike at the May 8 BPAC meeting. Two months prior, while participating in Plan Hillsborough’s Commuter Challenge Week, Wade’s locked bike was stolen from the rack near County Center. As hope of a successful recovery began to diminish, Hillsborough MPO’s Johnny Wong enlisted the help of the BPAC and Jon Dengler of  Well Built Bikes to replace the stolen bike with a refurbished model. After sourcing bike parts from garages and raising funds to build it, the good-as-new bike was presented. A flabbergasted Wade was very appreciative of the hard work and thoughtful people with whom he gets to work.
