Tampa Innovation District Transit Circulator Study (2016)

slider-TID-Mobility-SolutionsThe Hillsborough County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), in cooperation with Hillsborough County Economic Development Department (HCED), Hillsborough Area Regional Transit (HART) and Tampa Innovation Alliance, is evaluating the potential development of a transit circulator within the Tampa Innovation District (TID). Currently, TID partners including the University of South Florida (USF), Busch Gardens, H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute (Moffitt), and the Veterans’ Affairs (VA) Hospital, each provide shuttle services for their respective facilities. A coordinated transit circulator service may provide additional efficiencies and connect additional destinations within the TID, and provide added mobility improvements within the TID. The MPO intends to gather information, convene the TID partners, determine whether the common needs would support a potential TID transit circulator, and determine the parameters of the future transit circulator for implementation.
