Citizens are invited to attend a final public meeting to provide input into the proposed update of the MPO’s 2014 SouthShore Transit Study. The study focuses on the transit needs of Apollo Beach, Boyette, Gibsonton, Riverview, Ruskin, Sun City Center, and Wimauma. Improvements under consideration include: • improvements to local circulation • connections to Downtown Tampa and Brandon • on-demand service • public-private partnerships • initiatives of non-profit organizations and others

The Hillsborough MPO is hosting a briefing for the MPO Board, its committees, and the public to learn more about community impacts associated with FDOT’s plans for I-275 and I-4 within Tampa’s Downtown and Westshore urban cores. The open-house briefing will feature short presentations and displays. The briefing is an opportunity for citizens and Board members to receive detailed information about impacts associated with four proposed interchange alternatives. FDOT staff will respond to various public comments and motions issued by the board over the past two years related to community (or human) impacts, such as social concerns, economic impacts, historic resources, parks, and relocations. Please join us when this meeting is rescheduled!

An updated report will be presented at each quarterly meeting. This upcoming meeting will include coming to agreement on a list of projects for 2019, steps to accomplish, volunteers needed, and a discussion on the structure of the Vision Zero Coalition moving forward. Join the Vision Zero Hillsborough Coalition, as we paint the winning student’s mural design on the street in front of the school. Refreshments and painting supplies will be provided. Be a Vision Zero hero!
